Amplify! A Self-Advocacy Summit

People First of Toledo, in partnership with APSI Ohio, the LifeCourse Nexus, Veralucia Mendoza Arana, the National Federation of the Blind, the University of Toledo Medical Center, and Opportunities For Ohioans with Disabilities, is organizing a self-advocacy conference!

This conference is for everyone, much like self-advocacy is for everyone. It is designed for people with disabilities to come and learn how better to advocate for themselves and for others. For professionals and allies to our community to come and listen to disabled voices about the issues that we care about. For everyone– regardless of affiliation– to learn how to speak up for themselves in the times when it matters most.

We will be talking about important topics in our community, such as subminimum wage, medical advocacy, coalition building, supported decision making, working while disabled, and taking charge of your service plan.
